1. I think if you’re going to really think about how to use the internet in an interesting way, like for conversations and stuff, Tumblr is a lot better. Even if you only have like two followers, because of the tags, it allows everybody to engage in a conversation.

How well are you using tags?

Tags. Tags. Tags. Tag your posts, folks!

  2. Tumblrarian, Tumblarian, or Tumblrian?

If our dictionary editors have taught us nothing else, it is that the most common usage earns a place in our hearts. So, what is the most common spelling of the word blend Tumblr + librarian: tumblrarian, tumblarian, or tumblrian?

Tumblarian! Cause we can’t be falling all over that extra ‘r’ (even though…). The power of common usage, huh?

    Yerp.

These are just approximations based on an informal study.

The Library Journal tumblr personally prefers the #libraries tag because there are fewer incidences of students posting from inside libraries and also…less porn…than the singular #library.

I really wish I was at midwinter.

I also really wish (hope? ask?) that all the great librarian tumblrs I just discovered at #alamw12 would PLEASE OH PLEASE tag #libraries or #librarians. I know there’s heaps of librarians out there, but, as we all know, tumblr is only easily findable by content. Tag yo stuff, my people.
